Brazil-based CEO of Jobest Entertainment, Jolly Erimwingbovo, has
revealed why he floated his own recording label, Jobest Records.
The entertainment aficionado who is cousin to award-winning reggae artiste, Righteousman, said he is diversifying to change the face of artists’ welfare in Nigeria.
“For me, every artiste is a potential star and deserves to be treated as one to draw out the best of their creative ability.
“To start with, management of artistes should be handled by professionals, not record labels. This is because it is not advisable to take on recording and management together. Some labels have tried it but it backfired as their artistes’ career suffered for it. So, it is better to handle what you can,” said the entertainer who has been a player for over a decade in the industry.
Although Jobest Records was launched last year, it already has four artistes signed on and hopes to sign in more. They are Stephens, Kelvin J, Sammy Rhino and Barber.
Stephens has recently dropped a music video, Sexy Lady, featuring Kelvin J, and the single is already enjoying massive airplay.
The Afro hip hop single was produced by Mickey 4 and directed by Arayuwa.
Jolly revealed that the other artistes will also drop their works soon.
