National U-17 team captain, Kelechi Nwakali and midfielder, Samuel Chukwueze, will formally become Arsenal players next week , according to a report by footballinsider247.com.
The same source revealed earlier last week that the Gunners were in advanced talks to recruit midfield wonderkids, Nwakali and Chukwueze, to their academy.
This comes after Arsenal announced the signing of Mohamed Elneny, who was unveiled as an Arsenal player last Thursday after being granted a UK visa to complete his £5.2million move.
It said an Arsenal recruitment source has revealed that the London giants have reached an agreement on a double deal for Nwakali and Chukwueze.
But the transfers are in limbo while Arsenal await clearance. The teenagers need work permits and visas to play in the United Kingdom, although the Gunners are hopeful they will be in place by the end of next week. The north Londoners have beaten Manchester City to the signings of the exciting teenage pair.
The Premier League giants were among a number of leading European clubs who scouted Nwakali and Chukwueze in last year’s Fifa Under-17 World Cup in Chile.
Nwakali, 17, was named as player of the tournament, while Chukwueze, 16, also delivered a series of promising displays for Nigeria.
Nwakali is able to sign a professional contract as he has already turned 17, but Chukwuze will only be able to sign a scholarship deal.
Meanwhile, German Bundesliga club, Wolfsburg, have tabled a four and a half year deal worth about 3.5 million Euros for Victor Osimhen, africanfootball.com has revealed.
Osimhen, 17, was top scorer at last year’s FIFA U17 World Cup in Chile and the Wolfsburg deal is expected to kick in when he turns 18 in December.
“The Wolfsburg deal for Osimhen is around 3.5 million Euros,” disclosed a top source who is involved in the transfer.“It will be a four and a half year deal.”
Last month, Osimhen and his representatives visited the German club and a verbal agreement was reached.
They are due to return to Germany soon to sign the dotted lines.Belgian club, Anderlecht, are the only other club who are known to have tabled an offer for the highly-rated young striker.
